Commentary with Peter Davison, Isla Blair, Eric Saward; alternate commentary on [1] with Tony Virgo. All episodes have been newly remastered from the best available sources including original film elements for The Five Doctors – these classic adventures have never looked or sounded so good on home media. Courtney does well with the difficult prospect of playing two versions of the Brigadier, and the years given here, 1977 and 1983, have become rather notorious in the whole UNIT dating debacle (fans figuring out exactly when the UNIT stories took place in the classic series, owing to contradicting dates). There they make their way towards the Dark Tower in which Rassilon is entombed, encountering a number of their deadliest foes en route. This boxset continues the excellent work done by the team involved and represents an incredible amount of extras all presented in a lovely boxset. However, a few of the CGI effects are missing from random jumps, maybe two or three, a little jarring as it's not consistent when they're missing. To make matters more complex, one of these ships, the Bucaneer, is host to the Eternal Captain Wrack (Lynda Baron) who is seemingly responsible for destroying other ships in the race. An alien named Turlough lives in secret amongst boys at an English boarding school where the Brigadier is now teaching maths.

The episodes were not to the liking of Peter Davison and has been said led to his decision to leave the show. Season 20 ran from 3rd January 1983 to 16th March 1983 twice a week, whilst The Five Doctors, a special feature-length episode which acted as the 20 th Anniversary special, broadcast on 23 rd November 1983. It also states that it has an optional introduction from Fiona Cumming – that introduction is (non-optionally) part of the 2009 special edition version.

A previously-unreleased look at the iconic 1983 convention, plus panels featuring Peter Davison, Tom Baker, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, and many more. I’ve always had a soft spot for TFD, and it remains the best anniversary special to date, especially as unlike the 50th, actually bothered respect the past Doctors and companions, and give them their due. Zavvi always package and deliver these carefully and (fingers crossed) I have never had an issue with damage. Coming Soon: Revisitations 2 likely to move to Seasons 6 and/or 21, although was not included on Season 10. Longleat Celebration Footage: A previously-unreleased look at the iconic 1983 convention, plus panels featuring Peter Davison, Tom Baker, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and many more.
