About this deal

Probably not an original comment, but it’s the voices that spoil the package for me, especially Dougie’s.

Yeah, they are named after Marty, it just seems weird to have an 80s reference in a 60s fetishising act.

I’m sure guys like Weird Al and Richard Cheese hate songs like “Five Colors in Her Hair”, because they’re nearly impossible to parody. But their retro aesthetic isn’t just designed to evoke teenage good times – there’s a hint of classicism in there too.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance. McFly were Busted friends and affiliates, and refreshed the earlier band’s ailing formula with sixties pixie dust – chanted do-do-doo harmonies and a sunshine disposition conjuring a spirit of Monkee business. The song was included on the " Please, Please" single release in the UK, as well as on the All the Greatest Hits deluxe fan edition. McFly played themselves and play their hits and some other songs, but in the film they’re reimagined as a struggling band managed by Pine and playing above an American bowling alley, or something like that. The video begins by introducing the band members in a comical style, by getting Danny and Dougie's names wrong.Colours isn’t particularly widely-loved, as I appreciate the sound of teenage boys who, to be honest, can’t sing with the most endearing pitching, about a girl with “sexy attit-tude”, certainly isn’t for everyone. Create a ribbon of rainbows as a multicoloured sensory experience throws a spectrum of scents into the atmosphere.

Don't have anything else to say about this song, but if this thread fails to get more replies than the Modest Mouse one, it will be safe to say that ILM has been lost to the indie kids for good.I like the massed vocals on “shaved five colours OFF AND NOW”, unashamedly Beatlesy as they may be (maybe? Whereupon someone somewhere appears to have gone "damn, but Busted aren't even that good looking, imagine if we had a Busted who WERE" and created McFly. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. Today’s Sun stated that Danny is unhappy with life in the band and has asked to leave McFly and go solo.

The B-side of “Crashed the Wedding” was a cursory run through “Build Me Up Buttercup” that, the sleeve announced, was a collaboration with this new group, whom were depicted in thumbnail size next to the track listing, their faces barely perceptible – a teaser trailer before the real trailer came along. I should actually give credit where credit is due, I blame Catty and that summer I spent at Princess Park Manor finishing the album artwork and overdosing on music videos. Not the same thing as this, but we do meet a producer whose career foundation was the money he won on Deal or No Deal, so there is another bunny to come that exists in some way because of a mid-00s Channel 4 show! James Bourne towered over one camera to introduce his friends with the inevitable legend: “In the words of Marty McFly, you guys might not be ready for this yet, but your kids are gonna love it.In 2001, while filming auditions for a new band, he met Danny Jones and they then moved into a London hotel while recruiting Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, who quickly gelled due to their appreciation of American pop-punk group The Starting Line. I rewatched the first episode and a half a couple of years ago, I think because I was staying somewhere and the only thing I could get to work on the TV was All 4 (that’s my excuse, anyway). HSA used to like that about them, he would say "apart from the Hollywood looking one with the eyebrows, they're so ordinary looking. The track is filled with incident and, like all bubblegum, all of it directs course straight to the pleasure centres. That could be considered timely, given that the year afterwards a review of the film Elizabethtown will coin the phrase “Manic Pixie Dream Girl”.
