About this deal

A small patch of lower corner of red cloth of spine slightly faded and light edgewear to lower edge. The book is in many ways eclectic, with a variety of forms and moods, represented in an abundance of typefaces and graphic styles. These cards show a goal that must be achieved to proceed and explain how the players' and enemies' turns take place.

Illustrated throughout by Arthur Rackham with 16 tipped in color illustrations with tissue guards and more color and black and white illustrations. It would be fun to generate a list of questions with kids and then illustrate them as an art exercise. The gold lettering on the spine has faded, with light wear to spine ends, cover corners; a few page or mounting page margins show tan spots; text and plates are generally clean. The stories relate to festivals throughout the year and, towards the end of the book, we are told about Sylvia's seventh birthday.

Hawthorne does a wonderful job of re-telling the tales from classic Greek mythology, but it is very difficult to listen to from the woman who narrates all but the first story. Here's our list of some of the great books that didn't make our final cut, but that you told us were your favourites. Illustrated with 16 tipped in tissue guarded colour plates, a further 8 full page colour plates and black and white drawings throughout the text by Arthur Rackham. Complete with the very good rubbed and lightly nicked dustwrapper, the spine tips and fold corners with strengthening to the reverse. I really like the fact the author (and mother in the book) explain how saying "I don't know" is totally acceptable and encouraged!Wonder is in part inspired by an incident where the author's son started to cry after noticing a girl with a severe facial deformity. Such powerful words will never let you down this heart warming book will make you eyes glued to this touching book . That said, there isn't really much to this one, from a storytelling perspective - it's not really a story at all - and I doubt that it will prove that memorable.

Normally this is the kind of book I'd expect would be answered in quasi religious ways, and it wasn't and that's was kind of a breath of fresh air for me. I read it to my 1 year old niece hoping to teach her about the hard problem of consciousness, freewill vs determinism debate, or the veil of ignorance but the book ended up being very basic, with the main character just wondering where the universe came from. This is a particularly nice copy of this title, which is not often found in its original dust jacket. The lower margin of the mounting page for the tipped-in color plate at page 10: Danae, shows 2 vertical splits to the paper, not affecting the mounted plate. Pak’s artwork is delicate and serious, echoing shapes and colors across a spread to forge connections. The contents, with tissue-guarded frontispiece, decorative title page and text with numerous designs as well as the tipped-in and tinted plates, is in very good clean condition. It's not only a perfect book for parents and grandparents to share during a family story time, it's a great one for a library to have so kids can feel good about curiosity. The mixed media illustrations have a softer tone and color palate and they often have a blurry, dream-like appearance adding to the “wonderfulness” of the world.

Grab one or more of these beautifully illustrated, delightful stories of Gaspar, one of the men from the East, who grows up studying the stars and wondering if he’ll ever get to visit a star up close. There is nothing Sylvia loves more than stories; so every day she asks her mother, the old woodsman and even her fairy friend Sister-in-the-Bushes to tell them to her. Jack reconciles with Auggie, but is ostracized from his popular classmates, as Julian's influence divides the students into factions over the conflict.Ok, I guess we don't know for certain, but scientists have an idea of what they believe to be true based on available evidence. The novel has been translated into 29 languages for worldwide sales: Spanish, Catalan, Japanese, German, French, Portuguese, Danish, Czech, Serbian, Arabic, Hebrew, Norwegian, Icelandic, Swedish, Faroese, Turkish, Dutch, Persian, Italian, Finnish, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Ukrainian, Polish, Croatian, Greek, Romanian, Vietnamese, and Slovenian.
