The club house includes sheltered parking for the accompanying sleigh. Starting from JDK 8 ,the input data to NIO UTF-8 decoder(Java API) should be of pure UTF-8. Till JDK 8 this rule was not strictly implemented and decoder was able to decode ill-formed UTF-8 byte sequence also. Decoder in JDK 1.8 will throw an exception if it encounters non UTF-8 data and the program cannot proceed with the execution. This just filled me with so much joy about how random this is, yet it fits the overall playful theme of this set so well. I admit I skipped ahead in the instruction book to finish up Brixen. The only thing missing was the harness to hook the reindeer up to the sleigh.The elves presumably enjoy waffles as two waffles are placed on their dining table and three more remain visible in the oven! There is only enough room for two elves at the table and their short legs prevent them from sitting down, although these tan chairs do look nice. Additionally, I like the photograph hanging on the wall which displays the four elf minifigures with Santa Claus. There are no names afforded to the Elves, although the “leader” can be inferred by the red scarf. They have all sorts of cheery expressions on their face, which is exactly what you’d expect from indentured magical creatures. At over 8.5” (22cm) high and 5” (13cm) deep, this building set for adults and families makes an impressive Christmas present or secret Santa gift idea with a display model to enjoy year after year. On the ground floor is a small counter and chairs, which have plates of waffles and red mugs for the Elves to eat.
